1984 Winter Olympics — climb the Igman ski jumps for the view over Sarajevo
The day starts on Mount Igman, at the ski jumps built for the 1984 Winter Olympics. You can climb all the way to the top of them, and the view from up there takes in the whole Sarajevo valley. Close by stands an abandoned hotel, one of the relics Yugoslavia left on this mountain.
From Igman we head off-road into the Dinaric Alps, to Lukomir — the highest and most remote mountain village in Bosnia, and one of the few places where the traditional Bosnian way of life still carries on. Lunch is here: a traditional Bosnian meal, cooked by the people of the village.
If you want more of the mountains, the day can go on to the summit of Bjelašnica, a mountain known for its dramatic landscapes and hiking trails. That adds 50 € to the price for the group.
