7 stops, from the Olympic ski jumps to the Ottoman bridge in Konjic
The long day, for anyone who wants to see as much of the country’s mountains and history as one trip allows.
We start from Sarajevo on Mount Igman, at the old ski jumps and the abandoned hotel, both still marked by the 1984 Winter Olympics. Then on to Lukomir, where lunch is a traditional meal of local dishes. From there we drive to Umoljani to see its stećci — medieval tombstones unique to this region and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
In the afternoon we climb Visočica mountain for the panorama, pass through the village of Glavatičevo and stop at Boračko lake, whose clear water makes it a favourite for swimming and picnics. The last stop is Konjic, a historic town known for its Ottoman-era stone bridge, before the drive back to Sarajevo.
You can add the summit of Bjelašnica, for its views and fresh mountain air, for 50 € per group.
